Stretch

 

Dancers work on increasing range of motion and flexibility. No Choreography.

* Each student is required to bring 2 yoga blocks of their own to each class. 

Acro

This dance form combines jazz with gymnastics. Partner work, lifts, and acrobatic skills are the main focus.

* Each student is required to bring 2 yoga blocks of their own to each class. 

Acro Level 1 - No previous Acro experience/ beginner.

 

Acro Level 2- Must be able to hold a headstand for 15 seconds, do a bridge with shoulders in line with wrists, and be flat in in at least one of their splits, hold a plank for 1 minute.

 

Acro Level 3- Must be able to stand up from a bridge, do a limber and a back kickover and have 2 or more splits flat on the floor, hold a plank for 1 minute.

Acro Level 4- Must be able to do a front and back walkover, forearm stand for 15 seconds, chest stand, hold plank for 2 minutes. 

Festival Acro- Must be able to hold a handstand, have all splits, toes touching floor in chest stand and able to do a level 3 tumbling pass connecting 4 or more skills.     (placement by audition during Summer School)

 

Contortion/Tumbling ages 10+:  Available to Acro level 3 and up. 

Contortion Acro- Must have all splits flat, toes touching floor in chest stand. 

Acro Tricks & Tech- This class is geared towards competitive program students who have not done Acro before but want to build flexibility, technique and tricks that can be added to their choreography. Class runs September - June.

DRESS CODE: 

Students require a bodysuit, dance shorts or jazz pants.  Bare feet. Long hair to be worn in a ponytail or bun.
